MindNumb is a game for iPhone made by Bradley Hamblin, an independent developer ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: only what the game needs to work. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and nothing is sold.
What the app collects
Your account
- A sign-in identifier. When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives the app an identifier that is unique to you and MindNumb. The app doesn't ask Apple for your email address.
- Your display name and color. The name you choose (up to 16 characters) and your player color, shown to the people you play. If you let Sign in with Apple share your first name, it's only used to suggest a display name, which you can change.
Your games
- Online games: who played, the board, every move, the scores and the result, so both phones can show the same game and your records add up. Your secret pick is kept apart from the game until it's guessed.
- The daily board: your moves and score, for the leaderboard and your streak.
- Friends, blocks and reports: who you've played, anyone you block, and any report you file about another player (with the reason you chose).
- Invite codes you try, counted for a short time to stop people guessing codes.
- Games against the computer stay on your phone and aren't sent anywhere.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app stores your phone's push token so it can tell you when it's your move. It's deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
Purchases
If you buy Unlimited games, payment is handled entirely by Apple; I never see your payment details. The app sends Apple's signed record of the purchase to the server, which keeps its transaction identifier so the unlock follows your account.
Server logs
The services that host the app keep standard logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for a short time, for security and to fix problems.
How it's used
Only to run the game: signing you in, playing your games, showing records and leaderboards, sending your notifications, unlocking your purchase, keeping play fair (the server checks finished games), and dealing with reports. It isn't used for advertising, isn't combined with data from other companies, and isn't sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.
Who can see what
- The people you play see your display name, color, your games with them, and your record against them.
- If you make the daily board's top ten, everyone who plays that board sees your name, color and score.
- Nobody else can see your games, and other players can never see your reports or blocks.
Services the app relies on
- Supabase hosts the app's database, sign-in and server functions, on servers in the United States.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, push notifications and in-app purchases.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
Each handles data only to provide its service. If you're outside the United States, your data is transferred to and stored there.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Me → Settings → Delete account. Deleting it:
- deletes your sign-in and your push tokens, so the account can't be used again;
- removes your name, replacing it with "Deleted player";
- cancels games nobody has joined, and resigns games in progress.
Finished games stay in your opponents' history, shown as played by "Deleted player", and no longer linked to any sign-in. To have those remaining records removed too, email me.
Children
MindNumb isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has an account, email me and I'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your data, or to object to how it's used. Email me and I'll help, usually within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
